Alcoholic Animal Illustrations

The Brief
Spirit Animals is a self-initiated brief, sparked from a conversation about a ‘Tequila Whale’. The ideas was to come up with as many punny names for animal/alcohol hybrids. The outcome was spirit animals, an illustrated book which has my own visualisations of those animals.

The Concept
Spirit Animals was a great way to get people having a more meaningful and engaging debate than the usual small-talk which plagues a lot of offices. People genuinely get involved in thinking up the best names for these hybrid animals, which is why this project has been such a success so far.

The Product
So far, 10 illustrations have been produced, which I have translated into a small book. The layout is simple, yet effective, done deliberately so that they are a nice compliment to the illustrations, which are the main focus of the project. Accompanying each animal is an icon of the drink which it is based around.
